What is Girls Night In about?

Most people think that Girls Night In is about supporting the cause of Breast Cancer and when I got involved many years ago that's what I thought too! However after many years of being involved in the program during October I have come to see Girls Night In is a celebration of who we are as women. Its a night to grab your girlfriends and stay 'IN' and have some fun! However,  in recent years girls around Australia have been hitting the town to paint it PINK!

While the night is all about BEING A GIRL! There is a serious side to the night too. Traditionally, the concept of the night was to invite your girlfriends over to just enjoy each others company and donate the money you would spend on a night on the town to the Girls Night In campaign.

The funds raised go to the Australian Cancer Foundation via the Girls Night In campaign to support women in the fight against cancers that particularly affect women. Namely Breast Cancer, Ovarian Cancer and Cervical. Sadly too many women think awareness is enough.

To my girlfriends I want to say this is a Fight for Life!  These deceases will take the lives of our Grandmothers, our mothers, our sisters, our daughters, our grandchildren and their children too.  If cancer doesn't rob us of precious time with our love ones. It take hold of any one of you my girlfriends, it comes and invades our bodies and plays Russian  Roulette with our lives. It is impossible to escape the reality of the cancers we face. We need to take the chance this October To Unite and Fight Like  Girls!

My own Grandmother  lost her fight with cancer is 1988 at the age of 64. So for me this fight for a cure is very personal.

Our blog contains stories, statics and very revealing graphs, this October I don't want you to walk away thinking you might of saved someone's life through a small but significant donation. This October I want you to leave having a great Night In of Celebrating Being A Girl.reminded to take note of changes in your body and be reminded to have those annual check ups we girls unfortunately need.

In the past I have hosted Girls Night In . . . where we had product demonstrations, pamper nights, master chief competitions and cent auctions. This year I am inviting my girlfriends to co-host the night with me hoping more girls will come and thus we can have more fun Celebrating Being Girls This year lets no make it all about the money. This year lets make Girls Night In All About Us!

The theme I have chosen for the night is Fashion. Come on . . . we girls love to look great!  When we look great we feel great and chances are we feel more like Fighting Like Girls!

This October come for a night of Fashion Frenzy! The concept is a cloths swapping party. Now I want you to open those wardrobes and take out all those things you don't ware or use. Including belts, hats, shoes, rings, necklaces, grandma's scrafs and if you have kids do out the wardrobes too. Here's the perfect opportunity to de-clutter and get rid of cloths that no longer fit the kids. But Please NO UNDERWEAR. Oh your daughters are welcome just not the boys.

Here's what will happen, you'll bag them all up and bring them along on the night of drop them off at Deb's place, so we can begin to sort your fashion items out. So the rules for the night are Bring, swap or buy! So if you bring along 3 items you can take 3 items home FOR FREE! If you want additional items you  need to pay for them. You can't swap 3 items for 5 items even their a lessor value. Gee I hope this makes more sense than last year. If you like to purchase small fashion items to sell that's fine, but we ask you keep these items under the value of $5.

You don't have to bring or buy or even donate to come and Celebrate With Us! This year IT's All ABOUT BEING A GIRL!

So . . . Are You In?
