Your Journey

The journey begins from the moment you find a lump in your breast.  Is it a lump? Am I imagining it? What should it feel like? I’m too young? I have no family history . . .

Stop! You want the world to stop! But the ‘what ifs start’ . . . Yes, everyone will tell you to clam down. It may be nothing, it may just a cyst. And you know what they may be right and a pray for you that maybe the case. But cancer is not a game.

Yes! Stop! Pick up the phone and make a doctors appointment, if you have imagine it then that’s the best thing! You doctor is able to put the ‘what ifs too bed.’ If it is a lump you can commences to have some tests. At lease your GP knows. You’re scared, you don’t know what’s go on?

You want people to remind you its might be nothing and then you think its ok for them, but ‘what if it’s something?’ So a mammogram or ultra sound confirms there is a lump, a cyst or is inconclusive. OMG! OMG! OMG! And all you can do is cry. The more people try to clam you, the more you can to cry.

All you want is answers. Not waiting! Not questions! Not imagining ever possible Sergio! Everyone around you continues . . . You’re in a haze . . . you’re in limbo . . . you could be dying. They tell you early direction is vital. You have no medical insurance. So you make an appointment with a surgeon and you wait. You want this thing out of your body. Why can’t someone help me now!

What don’t the get about me potentially having a killer inside me. . . I don’t know your story and I am told that every journey is different. I am fortunate enough not to know first hand. But I know far too many friends who have started the journey, won the battle and sadly others have ended their journey.

I just wanted to acknowledge for some of you the journey began today and for others it’s nearing the end. I read today 1 in 2 people will have some type of cancer during their life time.   It seems too high. I hoping the money I raise during October can help make some small difference.
